Do you mean an Xbox? I don't see how the death of the Dreamcast could make someone want to buy a 360 since there is a four and a half year gap between the death of DC and the birth of the 360. I will say though the death of the Dreamcast did turn me away from games for a number of years. I barely played a handful of games between 2001 and 2005 when I started gaming for real again. It was Resident Evil 4 that brought me back.

I mean the Xbox or 360.  Some might have played their Dreamcast til 05.. who knows.

Pixel Art can be fun.

It's possible a lot of DC users went towards the Xbox. It continued the tradition of online gaming DC users wee accustomed to. Sega made a lot of good sequels ready for the Xbox's launch and first year like Jet Set Radio Future, Sega GT 2002 and Panzer Dragoon Orta. A lot of people don't know this, but Sega almost went into the fold with Microsoft and would have been the headlining first party of the Xbox. Sega asked for one thing on the console that Microsoft refused. They wanted there to be Dreamcast backwards compatibility on the Xbox. Can you imagine how differently things may have been if it had gone through and Sega was a part of MS instead of folding and getting bought by Sammy?

Nah, never owned a DC, but I know people that did. Most which went towards the PS2.

I loved Rare in its N64 guise but since then it has gone downhill. If they start to release great games like they did with the 64 then I may get a 360 but not anytime soon me thinks.

There were a lot of Sega titles near launch of the system on the original XBox.

Panzer Dragoon Orta
Shenmue 2 US release
Crazy Taxi 3
Jet Set Radio Grind Future
and a few others if I can remember

I wouldn't be suprised to see someone buy a XBox when it was first released just because it had so many sequels of games from the Dreamcast system.

It's just that simple.

When the Dreamcast died I went to Nintendo and Microsoft....

Former something....

After Sega left the hardware market I played PC games until Sony's 1st/2nd party development became too great to ignore. After seeing upcoming titles like God of War I broke down and resumed console gaming with a late 2004 purchase of the PS2. Since then I have invested heavily into console/handheld gaming primarily focusing on the Playstation brand but due to the weakness in current gen gaming I am considering a mid-ranged gaming PC.
