Say you want to create a certain character from a template of used art styles. I would like to see pre-dev systems be able to create, possibly by VR, an automated process of design. This is not to say that it will replace the artist or his/her own after-touches on the conceptual images but it will decrease dev cost substantially.
In addition, I could see some valuable AI prototyping for games in the near future as well as cross-platform automation.
That said, there is the risk of another crash of '83 with shovelware overflow. We are already seeing CG animation output in perfect HD in real-time as well to cut down on dev time.
Thoughts on this?
