Forums - Gaming - one reason why a certain users sig is full of bull

Nvm, you just forgot to multiply .01 by 100 to get the % (.01 * 100 = 1%). Funny how you act condescending when you're the one who's wrong, though.

9/10 vs 8/10 = 10% difference.

Hence, 9.1/10 vs 9/10 = 1% difference. Unless you're going to tell me the above is only a 1% difference.

So tell me, what's the definition of average?

Your study to determine what console handles multi-platform games the best, with an amazing sample size of one game, is very convincing. I will be sure to buy all my multi-platform games on the PS3 from now on.

To some people .1%/.01 out of 10 is the world

but that wasn't what I was doing anyways... you will understand in a couple hours when someone wakes up.

I was using the 10 point scale. And to find the average (Which it says and always has in my OP) you need to add all scores up then divide by 10.

Oh, okay - so you're taking just the 10 scores you've shown and averaging them.

Wasn't really clear in the OP - the "according to this," that is - because according to that the 360 is 1% higher. I'd tell you to clarify it but considering the usefulness of the thread I doubt it's necessary . (why bother picking out stupid sigs anyway)

100% = 100/100 = 1
10% = 10/100 = 1/10 = 0.1
1% = 1/100 = 0.01

In other words, the % sign is equivalent to multiplying by 1/100.

Yeah... I didn't think of the people this wasnt directed towards. But for the ones that were they will understand it.

@ c0rd - maybe i didn't clarify enough what I did but "average" has always been in my post. Which noone has done... How can I clarify that one?

1. There are a number of different ways of finding an average.... the one you are using is the 'mean' average.

2. In the OP you just said ".01" with no mention of a 10 point scale and when the picture itself uses percentage it would make more sense to use that anyway.... unless you were specificaly talking about Gamezone alone (which your wording makes it seem so) for which you should have said .1, not .01

The NHL09 also confused me, but I think I get it. You're picking at the (90+ gamerankings) sigs?

This is why reviews are worthless.

edit: Because when I look at the average, it shows 89% vs 90% (so we have to look for some other reasoning). I didn't want to have to count how many other reviews you put up there, either (it's the only way we'd get 10).

You got it. I don't think reviews are worthless. I think saying a game is better than the other because more people reviewed the game to give it a higher average is just silly. and if this one game suffers from less people reviewing it (or at least site like metacritic and gamerankings refusing to put non american publications except a select few) how many more are like that?
