Depends. Oblivion I play on very easy because its funny, and I am playing for exploring/story, not RPG elements. I usually play on normal, but hard mode makes SRPGs much better, especially otherwise too easy ones like FE- radiant dawn was the only one to get normal difficulty right.

Generally, I play games on Normal, or Medium if it goes Easy, Medium, Hard instead of Easy, Normal, Hard

I always start on easy and move up if I like the game and stuff. I rarely get good enough at a game to actually enjoy playing it on the hardest setting.

I always play with Hard on(I can't believe it took this long for someone to say it).

On a serious note, I do try and play games on hard/expert if it's available. If you need to unlock hard/expert then I'll whip through on medium.

Normal. You get nothing out of Hard modes.
