let me put it like this.. first i thought.. balance is off.. but you know.. it'll manage... Then i was singlehandedly destroyed by a Allied sniper and i was like.. what the fuck !

First he killed my.. like.. 16 units that were all charging him.. aparently he reloads very fast.. then he sent in for planes (like boris in ra2) but very quickly.. destroyed most my buildings.. then i went.. holy shit.. and packed up my mcv HE THEN TOOK OVER MY MCV !.. YES A SNIPER ! TOOK MY MCV !..

That was when i knew.. something was rotten in the game of ra3.. (it also took forever to get games going before the last patch)

I'm not saying i wont enjoy it.. i'm just saying that it's a shame because it could have been so much more than what it is.

Don't forget the keyword: B-E-T-A. I'm sure EA used all the data and comment they got from the beta to change a few things before the final release. With that said, please wait before saying it could have been more. We've barely scratched the surface in my opinion!

To be honest, the only unit I thought was overpowered was the Kirov Bombers. Damn, four of these things and the enemy base is done for! But in Red Alert 2, it was almost the same, so you just got to think about second options! xD

lol .. i did have a game online where a dude had like.. 16 of those kirovs coming at me.. and i had that japanese "destructive yuri school girl" and i managed to kill off almost all of them because she made them fall down.. unfortunately one of the last ones landed on her so she died.

And yeah i know it's beta.. but the drm is pissing me off :p and sure it'll be better.. already said. It's better than their prior cnc games.. but i still don't think it hold a candle to the classics.

Hehe, thanks for telling me that Yuriko is their weakness! xD

But yeah, the DRM can't be helped I guess. I think we're too early in the generation to consider if this game is worthy of being a classic, but I'm positive EA Los Angeles will succeed in at least recreating parts of what made RE so good at the time.

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

I don't know, I loved Red Alert, but EA hasn't released a great C&C since RA2 (which already was inferior to the first), then came the horrible Generals and the just decent Tiberium Wars. This one has the Hell March and the cutscenes, but the gameplay doesn't look similar to Red Alert at all. I'm not getting that vibe, maybe I'll be proven wrong, I hope

Well, you have the building boxes like the old ones (which is a big step from Tiberium Wars), separate units (it doesn't say ''building'' when you click on an on-foot unit this time though!) and the stapled units such as Tanya, Dogs, Apocalypse Tank (or at least the Soviets have the best tank, like in the old one), etc. There's also the Chronosphere, the Iron Curtain and the Tesla Towers! The gameplay is like every strategy game, so I don't see how it can be different other than the new naval aspect.

I have to disagree about Red Alert 2 though. Sure, it didn't have the sneaking missions from Red Alert, but the engine was so much superior to it's predecessor, and the new units were much needed. Westwood Pacific made the game if you didn't know, so shame on you! xD

It will be nothing like the old westwood games! It has SecuROM DRM, I refuse be buy any game with SecuROM on my PC and getting it on a console is a joke.

GG EA *middle finger*

I'm looking forward to it, especially after not-too-terrible tiberium wars.

This and starcraft 2 will cover my RTS apetite for the next year or two.

Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Looking forward for this one.

Command & Conquer and Red Alert 2 are games I fondly remember. I remember intense battles with my schoolmates over the internet.

actually just westwood studios.. they didn't have.. departments like that.  :p

Hmm.. one thing i'm wondering is why you keep referring to the naval aspect as new ? i mean you could have ships in both ra1 and ra2. The only new thing is the whole "build ya freakin base on water mate."
