Forums - General - Samurais in fiction

The samurai, the quintessential tough guy who never runs away from a fight, prefers death over dishonour, and saves the day with the power of his sword. Name your favorites

Mine are as follows:

1)Sanjuro Kawabatake (Sanjuro and Yojimbo): The most bad-ass ronin in cinema, behaves like the anti-hero, but really has a heart of gold. Can trash talk better than any Western movie hero, in my opinion.

2)Ogami Itto ( Lone wolf and club) : Ability wise, way above any body else. Wipes out the 100 man guard of a han-shi who tries to stop him. Single handedly kills every member of the Yagyu except, of course , for Retsudo. Takes out the entire O-Niwaban, all the while burning in the fire of vengeance.

3)Jin (Samurai Champloo) : Symbolises all the basic qualities of the Samurai, i particularly loved the episode where he tries to rescue that woman from the brothel. Has a quiet demeanour, and extremely lethal, the model Samurai.

"The accumulated filth of all their sex and murders will foam up about their waist and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save us!"...

....and I'll look down and whisper  "no."
