It's possible, the HDDs work at significant better speed than DVDs, that's why all those loading times are better on HDD, it's one of the reasons why some devs prefer to do installs on the PS3...

the small cutscene didn't exist in the hdd side which seems fishy to me.

That's pretty cool, I don't really ever mind load times, but for games that I know I'll be playing a lot I'll definitely use the feature. I'm slightly excited about the new XB experience =)

This is actually very true. HDD can load faster than DVD.
