Forums - Gaming - Top 10 Best Controllers of All Time

From an ergonomic perspective the 360 controller is pretty bad (but better than the original XBox controller, which was horrendous). This comes from a physical therapist (I treated many hand problems) who actually works with ergo therapists, we discussed this topic during a few coffee breaks.

It's basically too big for small hands and the button/stick configuration is too asymmetric (ignoring also left and right handed people) and doesn't take into account the MLPP/range of motion of the thumb.

I enjoyed the dreamcast the most for one reason only: When playing madden you could pick your plays on the memory card screen. Your friends had no clue what you were picking and vice versa. That was sweet.

You might want to let your comment swirl around in your head for a while to pick out what's wrong. Go ahead. I'll wait.

Ok so i thought about it a little more...and I got It!!  My opinion is not your opinion.  And since your always right and everyone else is always wrong... well let's just say I put 2 and 2 together.  Thanks!

P.S. You're so cool!

Your comment is wrong because there are no Madden games on the Dreamcast. EA decided to stop supporting Sega after the Saturn. You probably meant the NFL 2K series.

Nice job showing your true colors though. Try not to take the internet so seriously. It was a pretty tame thing I was pointing out and was meant for a quick laugh from you if you ended up realizing it. Try to bring your sense of humor to the forums every once in a while and not act so self righteous.

The "swirl around" clue is pretty ingenious, btw.

But chill, he didn't get it on first try.

Proud member of the Sonic Support Squad.

From different perspectives (different type of games) I would vote the Dual Shock 3, the Wii-mote and classic arcade sticks as best controllers.

A modern implementation, but the older more curved ones with one central button were better from an ergonomics perspective:

An old model:

I think the article was written by a 360 fanboy, with no background knowledge regarding ergonomics. Just got used to how the 360 controller works.

I commented because his response was a presumption that I wasn't respecting his opinion. It wasn't a legitimate guess into what he may have said wrong. It was an insult against me. If he wouldn't have been on the defensive, I would have just given him another crack at it until he got it. It's not like he was going to try a second time after that comment.

Why Dualshock 2 instead of 3? It has motion sensing, triggers, the home button and it's wireless...

....So 360 controller is top. How convient, PS2 and Snes controllers beat it hands down in my opinion.

And Guitar Hero accessory shouldn't even be on that list, accessory at best for a few types of game, anyone tried to play any other game that isn't music based with it?

Hmm, pie.

A steering wheel, a gun, a guitar, and a Steel Battalion clusterfuck are all better for gaming than a SNES controller with a touchscreen in the middle or double motion controllers with IR pointing???

This is the stupidest list I've ever seen on the internet.

As clunky as it is, the Steel Battalion controller really is the best, most immersive controller made for any system, ever. I was tempted to build a small stand specifically for it so as to simulate being in the cockpit of a Vertical Tank.

The best controller is the ps2-controller

the best RPG's are coming 2013 !!!! oh my god, this is perfect for RPG-GAMER = ) Ni No Kuni - 25 january, Time and Eternity, tales of xillia (PS3) and the maybe best game ever: metal gear solid ground zero

I think it's funny. You can connect up to 7 Blue-Tooth Dualshock 3 controllers with the PS3 and add-on a touchpad mini keyboard.

IMO it's clearly an unprofessionally done severely biased (I would say blinded fanboy) opinion piece.
