 Why?

 The first phone with Android is coming on the 22nd of this month.  Wait to see what Apple does in response.  They've already dropped their NDA on the iPhone SDK.  It wouldn't be fun to buy an iPhone a couple weeks before a price drop or promotion.

Their have been a lot of phones imitating the iphone some even dubbed the Iphone killer and Apple didn't really do anything drastic pricewise, unless I wait for the next Iphone iteration.
Though the ggold phone does sound interesting. 

Android is a fully (or mostly fully) open platform supported by Google and several major players in the telecom industry though.  It's way more than an imitation.

Still, if it's an iPhone you want then go for it.  I'd rather new than used though.  Who knows where that phone has been... ^_^

Haha, can't believe I misspelled google with "ggold, >_<.
Yeah, I checked it out. It's relying on third party software aswell.
Though since there's no guarantee for a hack with that phone ( I don't plan on getting a service plan), I'm gonna have to pass.

I'm still not sure of the penalties of buying a new Iphone and cancelling it though.
People who do this can make a killing off ebay, so there has to be a downside somewhere.

A friend of mine has had to format his iPhone 6 times while trying the various hacks out there.  Most recently because watchdog comes to a screeching halt while trying to load an oversized application map.
