Forums - Sony - PS3 Hard Disk Space Problems

I recently upgraded the HDD in my PS3. It was very straight forward, I backed up my existing 60gb to an external USB harddrive, then swapped out the internal drive for a new 320gb Western Digital black scorpion drive(This drive is 7200rpm and has a 32mb buffer which gives it a boost in performance over the OEM drive). (~$170 from newegg.com). After starting up the system with the new drive, you format the drive and then you can do a restore. Restore your data from the external drive and you are all set!

After formatting you'll end up with ~298gb of free space, plenty of room for you old drives content plus a bunch of room to grow for the new games, dl content and movie offerings that are now available.
