Forums - General - Palin: the great debater?

Lol, I love how low the expectations are... Now no matter what she can't look bad... Interviews are different than debates. You can go off on your own rabbit trails when are are clueless. Obama did it alot on Friday and things work well for him.

I think it is funny that the liberals were searching so hard for something to bury Palin with, and they think they would it with this interview. I have had several Job interviews in my life, and I would have to admit I walked out of some feeling pretty stupid... There will be no gotcha questions.

She is a smart woman. Smarter than most of you. I am including myself in that, I am not trying to sound high and mighty. But ya know, I went to renown places of study, but there are people who went to state schools that are smarter than me. Obama is not as smart as many of you think. Much of it is perception, he speaks well, so people think he is smart. Look at Bush.... that man is brilliant but he is a terrible speaker so every said he was dumb... He went to the same schools as Obama (bush might have gone to Yale...)

The left always tries to paint conservtives as stupid... They did it to Reagan, Bush, Bush 2, Quayle, and now Palin... You still fall for in everytime don't you.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Obama was top of his class at Harvard.  Palin had trouble graduating from the five community colleges she attended.

Somebody that stupid should not have a chance at president.  If McCain wins or Obama wins, they push for legislation here and there but they wont do anything completely foolish, atleast with the information they have at the time.  Bush is smart, his decision on Iraq wasn't stupid considering the chance of weapons plus the chance of a democratic ally in the Middle East, even though we ended up dropping the ball there.  Hindsight is 20/20.

There's no telling what will happen in McCain wins, dies, and bimbo becomes president.

Please know that you speak for yourself.

It's not about us being "liberals", it's about us actually knowing more than her about the US foreign policy, knowing who Hamas is, and being able to do something simple like stay on topic.

Those were Palin's own words. There was no liberal bias in presenting them. That was pitiful, astonishingly pitiful for the woman who wants to be #2 in this country.

Why is it everytime a Republican gets called on their flaws, they blame the "damned liberals"?

Now this is not to say that Obama doesn't have his flaws. Admittedly, he appears to wing it on things like the economy, but he actually stays on topic and isn't a slave to the buzz words Palin likes to throw out there seemingly at random.

Sorry man, Bush is a puppet. A complete tool. I don't think he's understood the implications of half the decisions he's made since he's been in office. Bush went where? Who cares? Daddy and his money can get him into any school he wants, with any grades he wants. It's only a donation away.

I really hate to be one of those Bush bashers, but if this is the best defense you've come with, then I have no choice.

Because it's much easier to get people on your side when it's "us" vs. "them".

Its not surprising that the people who expect her to fail because of her performance in her interview also expected her to fail at the RNC. The truth is that it is quite a bit different to prepare for a debate than it is to prepare for an interview, and how your deliver your message for an interview is much different than how you would deliver your message in a debate.

Oh my I swear if this woman is ever in office I will build a bomb shelter in my basement and live there for the rest of my life.

Damn, Cafferty layeth the smack down.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Hopefully Gwen Ifill will slap her down whenever she talks about her family or goes off on completely irrelevant tirades about how the liberal media is trying to doom her or that she is the victim of sexism. Really, in any of the interviews I've seen her do or her speech at the RNC there has been absolutely no substance to anything. All she does is drone on with the same buzzwords and hackneyed phrases that Republicans have been using ever since Rush Limbaugh got on the air. That may appeal to the base of her party but that base has dwindled considerably and will not help her ticket one bit this year.

The reason that Palin had to switch schools several times was due to finances. Not because she was failing. That is the same reason that she did the beauty pagent stuff. My point about Obama's intelligence was not a bash, I was making the point that the reason people see he is "smarter" than say Bush is his speaking skills. I am sure Palin is not as smart as Obama. He is a smart man from what I can tell. I was just reffering to perception. Let me take you back 3-4 weeks ago. People were saying the same thing about Palin, saying she'd flop at the convention. I remember people saying the same thing. "She is going to melt on the national stage.. blah, blah, blah...."

Admit it, you and most of the leftist were hoping she would bomb the convention speech, and she did not. So you are just giddy at the CC interview, she finally messed up, you finally have something. I am not saying she will do very well tomorrow in the debate (I think she might), but I am sure gonna my ass off at the people who drove the CC interview into the ground. Talk about your ultimate backfire... more people are watching most likely because they wanna see how bad she will do, and if she knocks it out of the part no one is going to care about the CC interview. The non-biased people will shrug it off as she was having a bad day.

You see one thing you guys don't seem to get, is that unlike you. Most Americans WANT to like her, they want her to do well, because they want to believe in her. If she flops, they will not be happy like you (reffering to liberals) they will be sad and letdown. I personally will feel letdown. I am not completly biased and if she does really bad (if she holds her own I will give her some room, she is new at this, and Biden is a pro) I will spend the next 30 days praying Obama is not as bad as I see him as... I will not vote for him, but I will not vote for M/P either.

Btw- I do vote for democrats, I just agree with less of them so I tend to group them in a pile together. Example, I am voting for a Democrat for Mayor, and for Senate. Every other office I am voting republican.

Going to five community colleges = going to Harvard AND being editor-in-cheif of Harvard law-review CONFIRMED!

Why did you go to Harvard bigjon if that kind of education was so easy to get?

And public perception of Palin has changed.  They were talking about it on NPR earlier today (10-1-08):

New Poll Looks At Election, Palin, Bailout

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=95263494

The Pew poll also cites increasingly negative opinions about McCain's running mate, Sarah Palin, for Obama's lead.

Rudin notes that while Palin had once been a boost on the GOP ticket, she seems to have become a drag.

According to the Pew poll, 51 percent of those polled say Palin is not qualified to be president. Just before the GOP convention last month, 52 percent said she was qualified.
