This price cut was much smaller then last one so how can it rise sales more then it did last time?

I´ll give an objective credit to MS and say that given all the effort they´ve been making, they deserve this decent success.

How to see damage controlling when there is no damage controlling at all.
If anyone wants to sift through my posting history, I said the same exact thing when sales increased for PS3 after the 40 gig launched. It's not about Sony at all, contrary to popular belief, these console sales are not that serious. I just hate it when people act like a price drop raising sales is ZOMFG news.
lol.

"Microsoft has announced that new figures published by Chart Track have revealed a massive 214% rise in sales for the Xbox 360 in the last two weeks."
Did you even read the article? If you don't believe Chart Track, you pretty much don't believe any official number from the UK. Keep in mind MS initiated an advertising blitz in Europe AFTER the price drop, so it's possible they succeeded in getting the message out to more people.
214% compared to before the price cut when people stoped buying console ?
it is good, but in the same time, it is UK ...
Time will tell.
Time to Work !
@ dianko: I think that shanbcn is implying that chart track has stated that the first weekend, the sales went up 32% and usually, the first weekend is the best weekend of such a sale, so if it went up 214% after all this time... he questions how that is possible.
Btw, is that a 214% increase of the sales of the past two weeks, compared to the week before that?
Or is it a 214% increase for every week these past two weeks, compared to the week before that? (big difference)

There was a massive advertising campaign that started just after the first week of price cuts that show the new price of the Arcade. This price cut also came as something of a surprise, unlike the US price cut which was known fairly widely for over a month. The price cut itself was announced just a few days before it was dropped in Europe, so people may simply not have known.
But whether shanbcn believes the number or not is irrelevant. This comes from Chrat Track, so while it's surprising, it is official. And that's what I was initially arguing against, since he dismissed the number outright as MS BS.
This is only marketing.
There was only a small rise in UK.
MS Marketing is too funny with his exaggerated numbers.
Low prices make consoles sell more?
