Forums - General - Rumor: Hilary will be introduced after the debate - to replace Biden?

There should have been a thread about Joe Biden - he has made few mistakes himself.

He has talked about his love for Hilary when he should have been promoting Obama.

He has taken McCain's side on issues rather than Obama's.

He once said that Hilary is better suited to be the V.P. than himself.

And now, the rumor is that he will introduce Hilary after the debate.

Will there be a new nomination?  Will Biden step aside and let Hilary go toe to toe with Palin?

Will that be good for the democrats? (I think so)

Palin vs. Clinton?

What do you think?

I'd say it's more likely that Hillary replaces Palin. OK, maybe that's "a bit" too extreme, but I don't see why Obama would flip-flop on this.

As far as the debate goes, Palin vs Clinton or Biden is the same. Even a well trained parrot would beat Palin there (memorized sentences win against gibberish mixed with memorized sentences).

Obama is not in any trouble. He does not need any Hail Mary passes. That's McCain's job. This is never going to happen.

If Democrats lambasted Republicans for playing politics by selecting Palin, the switch from Biden to Hillary would have to be equally lambasted. Biden is indubitably qualified to be either the POTUS or the VPOTUS. Replacing him with Hillary would be nothing more than a move to solidify the ticket's support with women. Obama is young, but he is not stupid. He would never go through with this.

That's just wishful thinking. It would be disaster to make such a decision at this time.

Besides, Obama/Biden is polling way better than McCain/Palin with women. Palin is actually less popular with women than with men. Obama already has women voters. Palin scares them away.

Tina fey is more popular than Palin.

This would be an unwise move since Obama is ahead. Any new bad economic news will hurt McCain more than Obama, and putting Hillary in the VP slot could reinvigorate the conservative movement.

Doing so would be a very unwise move.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

This would be the worst move he could make. Obama is ahead in the polls, Biden is very qualified, and chanigng a vp canidate always leads to a major drop in the polls. If this occured, then Obama would have a very large chance of losing.

Has Biden even had a gaff yet?

Is everyone just expecting Biden to say something stupid?

I mean the same reasons Biden was a worrying pick when Obama picked him are the same reasons he's a bad choice now.

His platform was way different, and he said Obama was dangerously unqualified. This hasn't changed and it can't even be said to be a lack of vetting since he said these things to his face.

Furthermore... these are the same problems Hilary has... and she would rather hold a position that actually does something anyway. I don't think she'd want to be VP. Unless she could convince Barak to take on her healthcare plan anyway.

There really wasn't any good VP pick for Obama out there since he's going in as the "Change" candidate... since all that's out there are established democrats, and established "change" democrats who are seen as crazy... like Dennis Kusinich.

The only good VP pick he could of had was Liberman... and Liberman isn't even supporting him.
