I think that some games promove war.

I remember that in one part on mgs4 eva talks about the patriots were using shooter videogames to get people into war. I think that was a critic from kojima or the MGS4 crew to what is happening on these days, the way that some videogames are being utilized for war tools.

That didn't make me deduced this. I remember when I was in the U.S. I was watching t.v. and saw an army comercial. It was about a boy playing videogames and then this army man comes and tells him, are u ready for the next challenge or something like that, and I was like WTF!!

a game that for example I think promoves that is COD. I think that this kind of games have like a second purpose besides entertain, I still think that entertain and make money with that is the main thing. but I think that this kind of games are like to be getting familiar with this war thing, and when be called or offered to be in a war, already have some little vague idea of what we must do.    what do u think??

Makes sense to me...look at that game Amercas Army for instance.

Well, yes. The US Army does publish a few games, and they're pretty much meant to be recruitment tools. They aren't strictly speaking promoting war, but they are promoting joining the army. They have the added bonus of planting some military ideas in the heads of potential recruits, such as basic tactics, patriotism, and all those classic military values. Should help ease the training/indoctrination process a little bit.

But other games, like the Call of Duty franchise, aren't so much promoting war and/or recruitment as they are selling a fantasy, just like the rest of the entertainment industry.
