Thats what I was thinking =P

If we are going by that measure my internal network at home is at 1 Gbps =P

Its a 100 Mbps dedicated line wired through the whole condo building... it was built from the ground up by Telus (canadian telecommunication company). The only thing is that you can only get it exclusively from Telus, can't use any other ISPs.

Anyways, I can download movies in 40 minutes

Well I don't doubt you , it was just a common mistake someone might make so it popped into my head.

As for the movies in 40 minutes, that is pretty vague honestly.  Depending on the format and length that can equate to a pretty big range of movie sizes.  In 40 minutes I can download a 3.5GB movie (anything) or so at the speeds I normally get from speedtest (ie 12 Mbps), my connection is supposed to be faster than that but as smbu2000 pointed out you rarely get your "full speed".

In any case if you live in the US and can download movies in 40min you're well above the national average at the bare minimum.
