I am a dyed in the wool Nintendo fan. My wife and two kids all have DS lites. Both my kids have Nintendo Wiis (of which we love) and my son even has a subscription to Nintendo Power. I love Nintendo. This weekend I bought a PS3 so that I could have a Bluray player for my new widescreen. I have to say that I was surprised at some things. Number one thing is that it doesn't run hot. It's not noisy. It's not even all that heavy. The controllers are not cheap feeling. In fact, I don't even notice that it has no force feedback. One thing that the Wii has all over the PS3 is the interface. No matter how much I try, I just can't stop thinking about how nice it would be to just point and click on the menus. Overall my first 24 hours spent with my PS3 have been very pleasant.

Yes, Sony makes a nicer product than Microsoft, that's for sure.

Every point you made as a positive for Sony is a negative for MS: their machine is loud, runs hot, has cheap crappy controllers, a bad and unintuitive interface (to be fair, MS has never been good at writing intuitive software), etc.

Also, BD players are $199 now. That makes the PS3 an outrageously expensive player and it doesn't even come with a proper remote.

the controllers are super light aswell, tht was one thing tht suprised me the most.

and keep the ps3 well ventilated, so u can keep the ps3 runnin for 8-12 hours straight without it heating up one bit,

I disagree with that. Their controllers are pretty durable. More-so than the PS3 controllers, at least.

And they're improving their interface this November. To be fair, Microsoft is learning from their mistakes. The new Vista is intuitive. Office 2007 is also very intuitive, imo.

The same thing just happened to me. New TV, HD satelite, and a shiny new BR player in the form of a PS3. Like you I was impressed with the hardware, my last PVR ran hotter and noisier than the PS3. Uncharted would be so much better with a Wiimote IMO

Office 2007 Intuitive.... wow, i just can't find words how much i disagree with that, all the great advaced features that made office what it is are now so hidden as to make it a pain to use. Office 03 for me. idk about Vista yet, I have very little experince with it.

ya i should. im gonna start collectin my money, or just sell my Yu-Gi-Oh cards online on ebay for some good bread(money) from die hard fans.
