The next great big hit, the community of lbp will be huge.
I can't wait, this game ought to be fun. I'm also excited for the user created content that'll have tons of levels to be able to expand on. sure, there will be a sea of crappy levels, but I'm sure that's why they're working on making a top X list to be able to submit the best levels for all to download.
It looks absolutely fantastic. Definitely getting it, even if I don't have a PS3 (I'm the assistant events director for my college's game development club, we have a communal PS3 amongst the dozenish of us)

This is one of my most anticipated titles. I hope one PS3 will let two players connect to the network simultaneously so that I and my gf will be able to jointly play with other people over the net. Maybe that's too much to ask.

You can play with up to 4 people at the same time on one PS3 if you are all together and have controllers I'm pretty sure.
