Forums - Microsoft - Jesus Crysis

Didn't know where to start this thread since there is no PC forum, but techinically PC is a Microsoft format so it will work here.

One of the few games I really want this year that I won't be able to get cause I don't have Vista.

3 Part developer Walkthrough in the game:

Still have hopes that this goes on consoles down the road :)

FYI, you don't need Vista to run Crysis. You only need Vista if you want to run Crysis with DirectX 10. Direct9 and XP will still work run fine with Crysis.

and i really think dx10 should be compatible with xp, but that only reduce number of vista buyers. I am staying with XP + Ubuntu.

Shockingly easy to tap post accidently.

Anyhow, when people say they can't run Crysis, it most likely isn't just because of an operating system.

"Man, I've got like 3 1 gb video card, and a dozen 2 gig sticks of ram laying around here, like 7 quad core processors, you want one?"

Actually, the developers have mentioned before that the Crysis engine scales nicely to cover computers from 2 years old (from date of release) to 1.5 years into the future.

I'm sure there will be users that are forced to upgrade just to even get the game to run, but most users should be OK as long as they don't expect to run the game at full detail, 8xFSAA, 16X AF @ 2560×1600 resolution - that's when system requirements get hairy...

I love the commentary. The guy is flying through with a shot gun against a Humvee and the Dev calmly says "Ooo, did you see? That guy lost his helmet. We're very proud of that."
*pause for huge explosion*
...You can actually pick it his helmet and use it as a weapon if you want.
