I saw it last night with the wife. It was alright. I didn't go in with high expectations and I came out with about what I expected. A kind of generic action movie that was surprisingly preachy. It was worth a couple hours on a saturday night though.

My son loved it, but I thought is was just ok.

It looks interesting, but it doesn't look like it will have a great story. How is the visual style and the cinematography, because that looks to be the best part of the movie to me.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. I don't like the style of "camera moves and shakes so you can't tell what is happening" that has been going on for the last decade or so. There are alot of chase scenes and action scenes that is just a jumbled mess of blurs and shakes and crash noises and then something explodes and goes to a shot of their faces looking scared then more motion blur, crash noises, a car explodes, a close up of lebeof cursing ect ect. Any time the action heats up, that's all there will be for the next five minutes or so.

The visual style works well enough, but it's nothing to really write home about.

I'll probably skip it then.

On an off note, did anybody see Traitor?  That move was really good.  Don Cheadle gave a hell of a performance, and the movie incorporated a lot of pacing and cinematic elements from a movie like The Bourne Identity to very good effect.

I really wanted to see it, but never got around to it. I love Cheadle. I'll definately pick it up when it comes to DVD blu-ray whatever.

Its got a little bit of "shaky cam," but you only notice it in one of the action sequences at the beginning of the movie.  Other than that it is motion-sickness free.
