Forums - Gaming - megaman 9 is AMAZING!!!

I have such fond memories of the 8-bit and 16-bit days, but whenever I go back and play some of the games I get really pissed off. Why is it I was good at these games as a kid, but now I completely suck? Most older games to me are now too hard to be any fun. I wanted to love the Megaman 9 demo, but when I had to continue before even making it over the first jump because creatures kept knocking me back into the hole, I knew that my days of enjoying the "classics" were just about over.

Keep this in mind when reading what I type...

I've been gaming longer than many of you have been alive.

Actually Nintendo's games are made for Nintendo's platforms, it's like saying (Why doesn't Sony put Shadow of Collosus on the Wii, or Microsoft put Halo 2 on a Nintendo platform.) It would hurt because software sells hardware, and if you could eventually get that software else where, then the only people wining are those making software.

In the first parties case and especially Nintendo's case, the loss in sales to hardware due to the above logic would hurt much more in the long run. The product they are trying to sell isn't just the software it's the hardware.

Think along the lines of how people these days wait for Greatest Hit status or used games before they make a purchase. The logic would become, "Why waste another $250 when Virtual Console titles will appear on XBLA."

i dont really think thats the case at all.  those specific games you mentioned are last generation games and one is for a system that still sells hardware.  NES and SNES are fairly old now and the games themselves wont draw someone to a console anyways...but if you introduce Super Mario to people who may not have ever played a Mario game before could even attract some of them to the Wii.

I would have loved a feature to transfer the game to your DS through download play, or at least some features like speed runs...

i ininstalled it, just after the 1st jumping section where that green thingy comes out shooting at you. im glad you like it as many others will but at £6.99 its to expensive for what it is

Are you kidding me? This game costs way a lot less than games we get today. I have no clue what you're talking about.

And it sounds like you've barely played the game. :|

@Crashman: I think the MM9 would be too big on the DS. Screen-wise. The only way it could work is if they add vertical scrolling but then that'd probably ruin the game somewhat because you'd probably land on a spike and not know it was coming. (That Game Gear Mega Man game was pretty much flawed because of that.)

@dib8rman: wha? Mega Man 9 is going to stay 8bit. It's never going HD. And I'm glad for that.
