Forums - Sales Discussion - why can't Forza sell like Gran Turismo

WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU GUYS TALKING ABOUT?
Forza 2 out sold GT5P throughout.

GT5p : 2.02million worldwide
Forza2: 4.01 million worldwide

it looks like the question should be why hasn't GT5p sold more than Forza2.
and GT5 has been available as a pS3 bundle for over 6 months. and it still only has 50% of the sales that Forza 2!....this surely is some kind of joke right?

because GT5p is not the full game, duh. The full version will sell more than Forza 2.

You DO know what Prologue means right? Right? RIGHT?

Either way if you count downloads GT5P should be at least around 2.5 mil.

Gran Turismo's days are over, the first Forza already trumped that series in terms of realism. Turismo is still just an arcade style racer, while Forza is a racing simulator.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

you're using the prologue version of gran turismo and comparing it to the full version, full priced, heavily bundled in it's strongest market over christmass, forza 2? then you're talking about jokes?

he spin it like on a disco :P.

prologue is like beta, gt is the only brand aside FF that can get away to price a beta and sell alot.

GT5 is likely another 10+ million seller.

This is a list of Gran Turismo sales ending June 2008 http://www.polyphony.co.jp/english/list.html

Forza2 was also packed with all Pro consoles for atleast 5 months in NA, not sure about WW. GT5p bundles have never appeared in NA, and they were also never the only bundle at retail for any single model.

How many copies of GT does each PS3 owner need?
It'll be lucky to break 2 million with the PS3 install base what it is.
