Looks like Haze to me...
With the huge competition in shooters in the next 2 months it's unlikely this game will do any good..

bingo,,,,that's exactly what I  thought,,it reminds me so much of haze.with similar graphics to mass effect,,,,yea ,it's love child of haze with mass effect(graphics department).

overall 7/10.

much better shooters are coming out,,R2,Soccom,far cry ,dead space,COD

I try not to compare FPSs to TPSs...

Out of Socom, Gears 2, Dead Space, and Fracture, I'd have to say I'm most looking forward to Fracture. I never liked the Socom games (don't shoot me), Gears was just a good game for me, and Dead Space is unproven. How can you say it will be better?

Ugh...this is madness...not Sparta, just madness.

I have to agree with a couple others on this demo - the demo felt like they built what feels like a mediocre shooter on top of a terraforming gimmick. I messed around with the demo for about an hour, and aside from messing around with the terrain, I couldn't really find many redeeming qualities about it. It just felt.. I don't know, almost like I had played the same game at least 3 other times. Everything about it felt generic - the shooting, the environments, the characters..

I think the big reason I'm looking forward to Dead Space is that they've created an atmosphere and story that looks incredibly captivating (just check out the animated comics they've put out). Plus, everything I hear about the gameplay is positive. So, I think that game is a safe bet for me.

I guess I understand where you guys are coming from, but I still disagree. It didn't seem gimmicky to me. I believe they put a lot of effort into it and I think it'll be a great factor in gameplay.

Eh, I suppose I'm just looking for something new. Gears was good, but I think the experience of Gears 2 will be very similar to the first installment. Same with Resistance, except now I can fight a monster the size of a building. Woop-de-doo. One thing about Resistance (I'm not flaming or anything, just stating my opinion); everyone's so psyched for 60 person multiplayer. Why? Am I the only one that thinks Big Team battles ('only' 16 players) can be bit much at times.

Just played the demo .. I assume the usage of terrain would get repeated the whole game to get through that terrible AI.

If done well, with proper map size(think battlefield 2, 2142) the 32-64 player matches are the best imo. Its one of the better features R2 has going for it.
