How do you do it without damaging the pad? I now have two with mushy R2 triggers. Like the spring has moved out of position or something.

The same happened to me when i opened it up. When I finally got the R2 triggers back correctly in the sockets, the flat circuit plastic came loose, and when i tried to put those back, the wiring for the motor came out, thus ending all hope of me fixing it.

Be very very careful when dealing with an opened DS3, the positioning of the R2/L2 buttons has to be almost perfect by the time you close the shell. I'm pretty sure you can test the "springiness" of the triggers before you put the shell back on. Just make sure to not be to rough with it or you'll end up like me.

BTW: Did you notice that there's only one motor on the left side opposed to 3-4 on the other side? or was it just me?

And again be very careful or you'll end up guutting your DS3 after it's broken like me.

Thing is, I have yet to open them. The R2 triggers became mushy after normal use.

I dont want to break them as I ruined a Sixaxis when I opened it up a while back.

hate to give u the bad news but when the triggers feel mushy its cause the spring snapped they r very cheap

but if u want 2 try opening it u need to use a small flat head screwdriver cause a philps would just strip the screws. remove all screws then u need to push in between the anolag sticks there's a lock the manual tells u were 2 push at

there is a rod that goes through the triggers the spring is located on the rod inside the trigger check it my bet is theres half the spring left the other half somewhere in ur controller
