I finally got a gold on all the cells in Wipeout HD. Even with the update, doing all golds on novice in the last section was a major pain. Dunno how I'm gonna pull off all golds in elite. Also, does anyone have any tips on getting the Zone Zeus and Beat Zico trophies? |
It's been awhile sicne I've played but for Zico you have to drive in a near perfect line and barrelroll about 4-5 times. Check youtube videos for the method.
As for Zonezues, it's pretty much all about concentration and getting used to the speed. The more you play, the better you'll react to the speeds. If you start crashing, you must remember not to panic and oversteer. Find some of your favorite music aswell, it usually takes many attempts for someone to clear zone 75.
All in all, Zone zues and Zico are pretty easy compared to getting all golds in elite and racebox reverse... or atleast, it was before the update.

4-5 times in one lap? o_O I didn't know there were that many places to barrel roll... I can think of two right off hand.
and yeah, I've gotten to about zone 50, but I always seem to screw up about there.

Yes about 4-5 times if I remember correctly.
First off, you have to finish the lap without using any boosts until right before the finish line (so you get a free boost at the beginning of the stage). Then, around when you go over that area with 3 speed pads ina row, you're supposed to boost over the the tiny bump to gain air time. To get air time, you have to make sure the nose of your ship is pointing up, then barrel roll immediately.
The first roll should give you enough speed to jump in the air again and roll another time. I'm pretty sure you could do even another one after this but I beat zico only using 2 at this area. You have to be quick.
As you go along, you must remember to hit every speed pad possible,you can't hit everyone, but as much as you can.
The most difficult part is when you get onto the catwalk. Right as to jump on, you must angle yourself to the right with the nose pointing up, and barrel roll onto the catwalk (by moving slightly left in mid air) and continue to drive ina a straight line. On the catwalk, jump off after the 3rd speed pad, barrel roll and land on the last speed pads onto the finish line.
Even if you execute all the speed pads and barrel roll, you have to drive in a great line and pretty much not bump into the wall once.
Check up youtube for demostrations.
As for Zone, 50 is when things get abit fast. When i got zonezues, i remember zone 50 being pretty easy (as my eyes got used to the speed), but Zone 70-74 is where most people die. Just keep playing and don't panic.
