Okay, sounds like a fun idea. Although I'm not as obsessive with trophies like some of you are (sheessss), at least... not anymore Although that might change...

I know personally I think people with platinum for wipeout, resistance 2, GTA4 deserves some special recognition... And to make it easier we could announce when we get one on this forum so that Arcturus only has to double check it before posting the ranking.

As good as that Idea sounds it's a lot of work, not only that the difficulty of platinums depends solely on the person deciding.  In addition there is no way to see which platinums a person has easily. You'd have to go into their indivdual trophy screen and get the information from there.  Sure you can easily see who has the most plats from the rankings but there are 2 people in the top ten overall that would not be in the top ten platinums.

Adding top ten platinums also rewards people like Rukusa and Hano who have completed 5 games totally but are stuck at 3 and 4 respectively. While HideoK and getrdone seem to be completeing game 100% regularly others in the top ten are sitting at one or 2 plats. Not to down play their acheivements but running through as many games as possible and just picking up bronze, silver and golds is certainly not as hard as getting every trophy in the every game you play regardless of difficulty of getting that trophy.

It's good to keep the overall ranking system the way it is because it's still an accomplishment to get the most points overall, however, we need to reward people for going above and beyond just snagging as many easy trophies as possible.

What I'll do for the next update is post a chart showing the top ten members with the most platinums. I'll also compile a list of who has earned a platinum for each game so we can all see and praise those who have earned tough platinums like Wipeout HD.

Creating the initial list of who has a platinum trophy for each game will take some extra time, but once it's created it shouldn't be much work to maintain. When I do the weekly update I compare last weeks count to the current count. I can easily tell who has earned a new platinum trophy over the past week (not that many platinums are earned in a week). Once I see that a new platinum has been earned I can just check their game details to see which title the platinum was earned for.

1st to platinum charts are a bit too problematic and time consuming for reasons that have already been listed.

I don't have a PayPal account at the moment. Is it simple to set one up? I might set one up so that those who wish to donate a little bit here and there can do so. I'd definately put the money towards a new PS3 game so that I can catch up to some of you on the trophy leaderboard :)

your hardwork may come to an end soon arcturus. Since Sony finally merged PSN with their official website, we may be seeing online self updating cards very soon. Maybe when Home hits WW.

Yeah, but logging on and calculating all the names one at a time obviously takes the majority of his time. That's alot of weight off his chest once Sony calculates it for him.

I heard about that news with Sony merging our PSN IDs with forum stuff on the US PS boards. Kinda disappointed that phase 1 doesnt include trophy count and level on your card, but hopefully that will be there by the end of the year....

Plus that its finally been confirmed that Sony will make trophies be mandatory as of January 2009. Awesome, no more worries about trophy supprt soon!



By the way, COD:WaW is frustrating as FUCK on Veteran... seriously. I feels like every single enemy makes head shots. There was a certain part on level '4' I had to redo for over a hour because it was that difficult. Plus alot of the times the enemy AI feels extremely unfair. Oh well... I geuss once I earn the platinum trophy it will make reward feel so sweet... god damn.
