Yeah, I think it's going to take A TON of cash!! Might be the hardest trophy to get.

So I ended up playing Mercenaries mode all night yesterday with my friend. We were going through and getting 90,000+ scores consistently for the A rankings to unlock the rest of the characters in co-op. (You need 80,000 to get an A in co-op which is harder than 40,000 you need in single from my experience. You end up fighting the bosses twice as much.)

And we got S rank on 1 level with a little over 120,000 which is what you need for co-op S rank. (60,000 for single player I believe?)

And then I was very surprised when we got one "Double S rank" (SS) for getting 169,000 on the 1st stage with S.T.A.R.S. Wesker. His Hydra barrel shotgun owns!! Before unlocking Wesker and Battle Suit Jill I was doubting our ability to even get an S rank. However with S.T.A.R.S. Wesker we had a 115 combo by the end of it and there was still a 1 minute time bonus to pick up that we didn't grab. My friend was too low on ammo and life to continue ><  

RE5 is so addicting! I'm going to drop big time in the leader boards here. Plus there's no other new games I want to play until May. Wolverine Origins is the next game. I sure hope it turns out good unlike most movie licensed games

You guys sure like RE. I didn't bother playing the demo past the first cutscene because it hung...

@fadetoone id give re5 a proper go as after the first chapter which is naff the game becomes really playable , i aint a big RE fan either so give it a second chance :)

Good news about double SS rankings, I didn't know there was anything after S !.( I wonder if they have SSS like DMC4 too :P)

So far solo I have S-ranked the first 2 maps just using BSAA Chris.

Duo makes it far easier to keep combo going... My highest combo is only like 35 or so...( Heck I have 78k on mines which is like 650th best score worldwide and only kill 91 guys and didn't do a combo over 17 that time I think...).

PS : I think I read somewhere that you need 1.6 million cash to buy and fully upgrade every weapon so it looks like I am around 30% of the way to fully upgrading every weapon...

What are ur thougths about Trophies.

Myself i think its good that a game has trophies espeacially if a game dosent support online play so u can play it over again to get trophies so its like an extra bonus.

Yep, exactly what my problems are..

First level I have a good strat but after a while I will run out of enemies for a few seconds ( I pick every time bonus and then just go into the hut with the time bonus and grab my shotty and shoots every one coming at me.)

Mines is more chaotic as I keep moving around everywhere  and picking time bonus as I go ( staying in 1 spot with your back to a wall is a bad bad idea with the reaper..) I feel I can still improve my score decently in mines with current strat but probably need to change strat to score better in the first map...

Exactly how many do you have to get?

Combo trophy has nothing to do with mercenary.

You need to get 3 melee attacks in a row on a target between you and your partner.

Pick something that won't die in 3 hits, hurt it so that the melee icon pops up and place him in a way so that his back is to a wall.

Melee him, ( he can't be on the floor), he will bounce on the wall and be opened for melee again, your partner then melee it ( or the AI if you are solo), he will bounce on the wall again and you can melee it again).

I changed my strat in the first map and already improved my score by 5k doing a shitty run ( ran out of ammo).

Now I move a lot, I am a lot more opened to attacks and take more but I do a lot more melee and they add up for time.

I just did 75k with the best combo a shitty 15 whereas my record was 70k with a 32 kills combo....( but 91 kills against my usual 70-75).

I use mines/grenades on Reaper but best strat is still to face it and slowly back up and shoot it as soon as the white bits show up, issue is having noone in your back....

If everything goes well toonight I should SS the first 2 maps solo ( combo are great but doing a lot of melee attacks seem to pay as much, less points from combos, more time so more kills and more bosses kills).
