good stuff, metldown is freaken hard!
I hate the stupid time trials !!!!!!!!!
I swear I have spent 3 times more time getting bronze on each time trial so far than getting gold on races and speed laps...........
Up to 28% so far but struggling badly, slowly working my way throug Speed Zone right now...
I will try to make it to meltdown but still a way to go and as soon as I get another retail game with trophies I am done with Wipeout !
I just can't get used to the weird trajectories and god how do I suck in Rapier and I have yet to see the Phantom..............
There are tracks I don't see how you can do a full lap without ever hitting the wall on a Rapier, let alone a phantom lol...
yesterday I added some burnout trophies in playfire (the gametarg) using the browser on PS3... some error ocurried and my pain and stardust trophies weren´t there anymore. I had to add them now again............
now only will add them on PC.

Man, I wish i were insanely good at Wipeout. It took me damn near 2 hours just to beat Ubermall reverse phantom elite... most frustrating thing I've experienced yet. I still have ways to go but i believe i'll eventually get there by painful grinding. I know people that already have the platinum and are just going for world records right now. As for zone zues. The furthest I've ever made it in zone is 52, and that was with airbrakes. After that, i took a break from zone. It should take me a day or two to get zonezues when I try it. Funny thing about the airbrake trophy is that you get so used to using airbrakes only after obtaining the trophy that it feels weird to use dpad again. |
Correction. Chenghou Project on phantom against "elite" AI is the most frustrating thing I've ever experienced. The point that the player has to be near perfect AND get lucky to win gold is really pissing me off. I spent half a damn day trying to get 1st place in chenghou (phantom/elte) and only managed to do it once on campaign, or some reason I haven't had ANY luck at all on racebox. I'm afraid I might break a controller in the process.

If it makes you feel better I've been stucked on the same track on novice Rapier lol :p
Got a silver finally but would like a gold or I'm going to have revisit others cells as I will be a few points short to unlock Meltdown...
How to do you take the hard turn before the first platform jump on that track without hitting the side of the track ? I have never managed to do it with the rapier ( I can with Flash and Venom).
Now to beat those 2 rapier tournaments.. ( I start well and then come Chenghou Project, Sol and Sebomko climb and I fail hardcore on those...).

I feel better now that I finally beat it. :) As for that first sharp turn, You need to be positioned perfectly on the middle of the right half of the track while facing abit left already. Once you're in that position, you'll have to push L2 as hard as possible while holding left to get out untouched. It's really difficult and impractical to get that turn so don't feel bad if you mess up on it. I can get it done on rapier sometimes but it's very very hard on phantom even while using Feisar. TBH, I just crash on purpose with the right side of the ship and sideshift on impact. Being that it's not even necessary to get perfect on the first sharp turn in phantom elite races, I'd say you should just worry about perfecting the long curved turn and the right-left-right tunnel.

Those I can manage decently.
What I hate in that track is that if for any reason you fall off the track the game puts you in a deathloop where you respawn and fall again before you can really react.. I've fallen like 4 times in a row on that track...
Something I have noticed too is that the choice of ship can actually make some challenges a lot easier or harder depending on the ship...
Switching from Feisar to Icaras on Sol Rapier speed lap nets me a 0.5 second faster time not doing anything any better....
5 more points to unlock Meltdown, 2 more cells medals for Drop Zone trophy.
So slow..........
