Just beat Zealot and I figured I would give a shot at hardcore.

I managed to die on the boss at the end of chapter 1...lol

I attempted hardcore this afternoon....

On my first try I made it to the tram in Chapter 2. I was hopping from one tram car to the next when the door of the tram broke off and hit me.

On my second attempt I made it all the way to Chapter 5, at the top of the chruch. There's a part where you get rushed by the pack. I was doing fine until four of them plus a slasher came at me at once. I got caught while reloading. I managed to beat most of them away, but the slasher ended up killing me :(

Killzone 3 platinum!  Ail, looks like I will pass you back!

Elite mode was pretty easy this time. I would say I died less than 20 times the whole game and the checkpoints are pretty forgiving so it wasn't frustrating at all. Also your squad mates can now revive you so that really helps. They can revive you up to 3 times per checkpoint before you've taken too much damage to be revived again.

Online trophies were also a breeze compared to Killzone 2. I'm happy I didn't have to spend over 40 hours in a week to get into the top 1% again for a trophy. 

Oh man,  Ch.5 that's rough Arcturus... I feel your pain. Keep the Dead Space 2 hardcore mode stories coming... and well, hopefully... there won't be too many more death stories!  

I'd like to know which parts get the best of everyone here who attempts Dead Space 2 hardcore mode.

@Arcturus  - which chapter are you planning to use your first save on?

Skyrim is looking really good. Probably your most wanted game now right?  Wait let me guess, it's between this, Mass Effect 3, and Dragon Age II.

@HideoK: I was planning on using my first save in just before the elevator ride to the solar array (beginning of chapter 7 I think)

I'm going to have to wait a while until I can attempt DS2 hardcore mode again, as I don't have many opportunities to play 4 to 5 hours straight to reach my first save point.

Congrats! It looks like you're the first to platinum Killzone 3. From what I've read so far, it looks like Killzone 3 should be rating as a 2-star game. Do you agree?

Skyrim is my most wanted game this year, yes.

I want ME3 badly too.

But I have to say from the last things I read from DA2 and the demo, Im fine with waiting for the inevitable Ultimate Edition next year.

It wasnt bad, but not something I have to play right now.

I know where I want my first save to be but it is going to be rough to make it there.

Ideally I would like it to be right when you get off the transport to clear the way.

This is going to be tough though as there are two  painfull areas before that ( the ride up to the solar array and the fight outside CEC).

I have made no progress on DS2 hardcore and even once that is done I need to do one more NG  as I still need a bunch of trophies ( still have to vacuum 9 necromorphs for example or kill 13 with kinesis..)

I did play a few hours of Heavy Rain , 1h of KZ3 and made some decent progress in GT5 B-Spec ( finally unlocked endurance races so now I can level up while I sleep !!!)
