I never downloaded the Dead Space 2 demo so I don't know what part that is. Didn't want any spoilers, and I knew I was going to buy the game so I didn't need any convincing from playing the demo.

Two more deaths on Hardcore mode...

One was on Chapter 13 where I got killed in one hit from one of the fast dark black Necromorphs. Got sent back to Ch. 11

And the most crushing blow was when I got all the way to the end of the game, beat the final boss... and died on the last flying section (went splat into some flying debris). Ughhh, it was literally the last piece of debris I had to dodge and than I would have beat the game on Hardcore!!

So back to the middle of Ch.13 where I created my 3rd and final save. I'm going to practice that final flying section at least 5 times on my zealot playthrough before attempting hardcore again!

One shot from a Necromorph? Sounds incredibly punishing...how upgraded is your suit and health?

And one shotted by a rock too... one that flew between you and the END, out of all that space in the universe... What a moment.

My website: Precocious Ragamuffin

My rig was not fully upgraded at the time I got killed in one hit by that Necromorph. I think I had 3 out of the 4 life upgrades and I had close to full health.

But alas, Dead Space 2 platinum is mine!   Platinum #50. Definitely ranks up there with the platinums I'm most proud of.

Started from the middle of Ch.13 and it only took another 45 minutes to get back to the end and beat the game. I made sure to know exactly which way I had to fly to dodge the debris this time before attempting that last section again.

Congratz. Compared to Ds1 how was it.

ModNation Racers (surprised no one has plat it yet in the league) is going to be a fun platinum, and certainly a challenging one. The trophies for 250,000 Create XP and level 30 (you need a total of 500,000 XP across all modes) aren't too bad, but will certainly be a grind (there's a workaround, but it involves making like 9-10 users on your PS3 and it's still a good 15-20 hours if you use that method). The challenges in Career Mode are where it'll be tough, since they all require (well, all but the first one usually) you to do something specific AND get first place.

How did you find the sections with the regenerating necro?  I found those bits a royal pain in the ass even on normal.

Though I didn't have a force gun, I'm still hoping that will let me own hardcore, in DS1 Impossible I would just let enemies run right up me to then fire it and laugh at them either blowing backwards or blowing apart.

I had  3/4 upgraded force gun in normal and it wasn't that easy.

I don't remember how the force gun was in DS1 but I find the primary attack to suck a lot. Sure it pushes them back but with the ammo drops in hardcore you can't really afford to waste one shot just to get breathing room ( stasis can do the same thing and costs no ammo). The secondary attack does rock and that is the only move I really use with that gun ( primary attack does work well in the last boss fight to clear the shadow packs or to clear the little thingies that pops out of one of the necromorph belly).

Honestly after beating normal and getting to chapter 5 in Zealot I think my first upgrades in hardcore with the plasma cutter is going to be the stasis module...

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

he did get it.

On a side note I think I should be able to get Dead Space Extraction platinum before the update.

I am almost done with impossible and getting all collectibles ( only have chapter 9 left)

In DS1 it took 1-2 shots of upgraded force gun to blow all limbs off anything.  If DS2 is like that seems pretty good good ammo consumption.

I probably will not be trying it for a long time though.

I  coudn't even one shot anything in normal with a half upgraded force gun with the primary attack..( thankfully the secondary attack rocks). I actually used the javelin gun a lot in normal.

Not sure what weapons I will pick for hardcore.

I'm thinking plasma cutter, line gun, force gun and flamethrower early on and switch flamethrower for contact beam around chapter 11 or so...

Flamethrower isn't that great except for one thing, everything you kill with it drops amo or credit and when facing stuff like the packs you don't have time to go smash them for loot before they disappear so you loose a lot of drops when using other weapons on them...( and flamethrower primary one shots pack members so it's probably the most efficient weapon ammo wise against those).

Yeah I noticed about 2 mins after I posted it, hence the quick edit, lol.

Btw, Ail, I'm about three Nurburgring 4H races from platinuming GT5. Feels surreal after the last 3 months off constant GT5ing.
