I think it's going to be more difficult to get a good level built in LBP2 than in 1, considering how previous tools were revamped and there are a lot more new tools at your disposal. To add to that, there are levels imported from the beta, so a lot of people will probably be playing those for now.
I have to say, though, that the story mode in LBP2 is infinitely better than LBP1's. The amount of diversity in the levels is damn good, and Media Molecule really shows off what some of the things you can do with the creation mode. I think Acing all the levels will be quite difficult in this one, but none of them seem to be like The Bunker in the first game.

How's the connection for you for playing online? It's horrible for me...can only barely join 1/20 games, and even when I do, can only play for a few minutes at best. The Dive In feature is basically broken with this as well. Need to dive in for the Dive In trophy... >.< Argh I hope they fix the servers.
What do you think of having prize bubbles on the side levels in Story mode, and you gotta get high points in them to be able to receive all the prize bubbles? I reckon that's gonna be harder than acing levels!
But yes the diversity and creativity is absolutely amazing.

Generally, I've been playing alone for now, but I did have someone join me while doing some story levels last night and I didn't have any lag at all on my end. And yeah, I think I'll have more trouble with getting the prize bubbles on the side levels in the story than on the actual story levels. Some of those score challenges are quite brutal (like the one with the twin-stick shooter, for instance).

I see. Hosts usually don't have lag anyways.
Apparently MediaMolecule is aware of the situation. And Beta testers said that it also happened during the Beta, and then it was fixed thru patching. So we should expect a patch soon.
Yeah those hard side levels require at least 2-players to keep the score multiplyer going or just more chance of one person surviving long enough I reckon. Still early now, but if later we're all having trouble I suppose we could help each other out, whoever's got the game.

Maybe their servers just can't handle the massive influx of new Little Big Planet 2 players. Or they just need to patch something again. So much for the game not needing a patch on day 1... That was the reason it was supposedly delayed: to make the retail copy perfect.
So for anyone looking to connect I've had some success doing the following. First invite someone to your game from your buddy list. If they don't appear in your pod you can still choose a level. Usually the pod part is fine. However is they don't load in the level then wait a few seconds then hit the replay button. This trick worked 9 times out of 10. On replay they would load into the level immediately.

I cancelled my Gamefly account, but I managed to buy a total of 6 games this past week with all of the deals going on with Amazon. I got Batman: Arkham Asylum, Mass Effect 2, LBP2, Prototype, Nier, and GTAIV Complete Edition...all for around $150. Of course, with all the plethora of games coming out in the next few months, it's like a second helping of the Christmas season. |
$150? You spent too much. I suppose if ME2 was PS3, that probably inflated the number. For me, 6 games is closer to $100 or less :)
So far this year I've spent $125 on 9 games!

Well I spent 60$ on 1 game, but the difference is that I am actually playing that game ;)

Nice. Would have only cost me $37 with release day shipping. To be fair... if I hadn't played it already, I'd be playing it now too.

Well, I ordered LBP2 and ME2 (yes, PS3) for about $110 through Amazon, but managed to snag a $40 credit because of those two. I got Batman, Prototype and Nier with the B2G1 on Amazon, used the credit and got those for like $15, then got GTAIV Complete Edition for $25 when it was on the Gold Box deal. It's awesome to get 2 day free shipping with the Amazon Prime trial, too.
