Have you checked your audio output settings?

It might have defaulted to some or other setting and be pumping out at a frequency or format not supported by your audio hardware.

Have you recently upgraded your firmware?

Check to make sure that it's plugged in all the way.

Also, check the settings on the TV to make sure that your incoming audio source is set up correctly.
