Forums - General - Why are AOL users so in favor of McCain?

@steven
You know the reason he can't use a computer is because of his war injuries, right?

It was a joke about AOL users.  He doesn't use the internet because he never felt the need to.  There's nothing wrong with that, the secret service doesn't allow the president to have a normal email address anyway.

“I am learning to get online myself, and I will have that down fairly soon, getting on myself. I don’t expect to be a great communicator, I don’t expect to set up my own blog, but I am becoming computer literate to the point where I can get the information that I need.”

“I don’t e-mail, I’ve never felt the particular need to e-mail,” Mr. McCain said.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

McCain can't use a computer?

And it's because of his war injuries?

What war injury is preventing him from using a computer?

I honestly don't know what injuries.. It was just there response to the add. It is most likely true. I am sure it is possible for him to use one... I am guessing the injuries make really hard so he does not bother.

He can't extend his hands for an extended period due to the rack.  Side note: Also he cannot raise his hands above 90 to his body.

Because people who still use AOL are old grandmas who are too lazy to transfer their internet service. Young people generally have a disdain for all things AOL except AIM. AOL sites are usually really shitty too, a bunch of ads, etc. (One caveat, AOL Music is actually a really good music website, great selection of vids at good quality).

Its just such a bad internet service, and pushed dial-up for way too long.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

John McCain can use a computer. He said finding a v.p. is "basically a google."

Regarding the poll, I think the average AOL user is older than McCain.
