Forums - Microsoft - 360 Racing game recommendation

I want another racing game because of how much i've enjoyed Burnout Paradise over just about any other game this gen. The types of games I do not like are sim games, even the arcadey ones. Anything that involves me not being able to pound on the right trigger without spinning out come a turn is not my kind of game. This includes Forza 2(which I own anyways), Grid, and PGR 4. I played the demos of the latter two because of recommendations from members here and I just hate them. I did also play the Pure demo, and loved it, but I'm not convinced I want to spend $60 on a game that will probably be $30 come January. I haven't tried Dirt or Sega Rally yet, so let me know if it's worth demoing them. I'm not opposed to car combat if the driving controls are good, meaning staight arcade. Here's my favorite racers ever so anyone can get an idea of my tastes:

Burnout Paradise
Diddy Kong Racing
Crazy Taxi
Daytona USA
Mario Kart 64
F-Zero(GBA version)
WipEout 2097
Burnout 3: Takedown

As a bonus, let me know which ones have local multiplayer. It's my one and only sore spot with Burnout.

Racing games I enjoyed very much are:

Ridge Racer 6
Project Gotham 3
Sega Rally

All those (Especially ridge racer and sega rally) are very very fun and will be pretty cheap to buy at this point. I actually still play Ridge Racer...89% complete. Sega rally gets very hard tho later in the game :(

Ridge Racer VI is a good game. It has local multiplayer, as well.

I recommend someone make a 1080p racing game for teh 360. Take down the graphics so i can see farther in the distance

Repent or be destroyed

Well now that I have a small trend with Ridge Racer 6, how does it play? Is it closer to Burnout is driving physics, or the PGR series?

Well I was just going to recommend Burnout 3 using backwards compatibility, but you are a step ahead of the game on that front.

 Burnout.

If you use brakes in Ridge Racer you will lose. Its gas all the way...except when getting to harsh corners when you let go of the gas for a breef moment and turn in to get the drift going. Its all about drifting in the game... While its not very realistic, its hella fun to get a drift going at 200 mph and keep it for 15 seconds through 4 different turns. Plus drifting charges your nitrus so that makes you go even faster...

Your reading comprehension skills are uncanny sir.

@disolitude-I'm going to demo Ridge Racer and if I like the controls, i'll be grabbing it.

Has anyone played FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage? That one looked interesting.
