Forums - Microsoft - Is the Tales of Vesperia premium ediiton worth buying?

My birthday is coming up shortly, and I am thinking of asking my parents to buy me Tales of vesperia premium edition this afternoon. Is it really worth $70? I usually like to pay $20-$30 for games, but I LOVED ToS (only tales game I have played) and I think that that premium box looks 10 times better. If I open up the package and play the game, will the premium edition not be valuable in the future? Is it a good buy? Help me out!

Unfortunately, there's no way your going to get it. The steelbox is incredibly rare, and tough to get a hold of.

IF you can get one, then by all means spend the extra $10. it has a great OST and Steelbox design. However, it would seem that Namco didn't ship enough units.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Are you sure you're talking about the right edition?  Amazon has at least some in stock right now according to their site.  Is there another version for $70?

They were hard to get a hold of, Amazon just recently got restocked. Before that they were going for around $120 on ebay. Amazon seems to be the only place to get it now. There's no definite answer to if they will sell out soon and not restock anymore. If you really want something, get it before its gone, because you might have to pay a premium to get it later. Look at the Atlus games that always seem to be in limited quantities.

Everything considered, the collector's edition is a definite buy. Steelbook is awesome.

Tales of vesperia is one of the best JRPGs ever made, and the limited edition case looks awesome. Buy it, then rip its songs onto your iPod because they are that good.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Thats the plan. Though I already have about 6 Tales of Symphonia songs on my iPod. Hopefully the CD has different ones than what I already have. How much do you think the limited edition will be worth in 1 year if I open it and play it and rip the disc to ipod, but keep everything in like new condition?

My friend who is a hige tales fan siad he heard that Vesperia is sub-average. Then again, he doesn't have a 360 and would only want Banjo Kazooie and Tales for it (big Nintendo fan) so I bet he is just retionalizing not being able ot get the game.

How long is it? ToS lasted about 80-95 hours for me :) (did pretty much every side quest/skit ect)
