Forums - General - McCain's Convention Bounce Essentially Gone

I updated the numbers a little while ago.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Shhhh.... T'was an excuse to bumb your thread.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

It can only go up from here.. especially with the debates. Obama will positively nail mcbush on economic issues and the iraq war.. Nobody likes a gaunt 72 year old man telling them that everything is fine the way it is and they shouldn't hope for anything better. Biden will also hit palin HARD.. I'm really looking forward to that one.

If anyone is interested, these are some polls with Nader and Barr. Not as many polls, so the bump is still effecting it, but you can compare them.

"Obama leads McCain 54 percent to 38 percent among all women. He holds a two point edge among white women, a 21 percentage point swing in Obama's direction from one week ago."

Source: CBS

21 point swing in one week got damn! Obama took the ladies back. Looks like the hardcore Hillary fans were bluffing and the Palin fans disappeared with her favorability rating dropping 10 points in a week. I think Palin is scaring women away after her initial wow factor wore off. And McCain isn't doing so good with the ladies either, after his appearance on the View. He was surrounded by angry women on a couch and told them Roe v. Wade was a bad idea. Whoopi and Barbara were hilarious.

All McCain has to say for the rest of the campaign is this:

Palin. She's hot. Vote for us.

Looks like Obama's leading once again!

Its quite clear who the momentum is with.... McCain and his failed ideas are pretty much finished.
