By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

WASHINGTON - The Bush administration is making available more than $120 million in emergency relief funds to help the poor heat their homes this winter.

Officials announced Wednesday that $96 million will be distributed across the United States to help low income people deal with expected record high heating bills this year.

An additional $25 million will be made available to states with large numbers of families relying on oil heat, including Alaska and the New England states.

Legislators and heating aid advocates having been pressing the administration to provide more money through the U.S. Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.

Hey, he's helping out the poor, too. Ain't he nice?
