Forums - General - Beautiful timing for surgery. (Wisdom teeth removal tomorrow.)

Today is my 6th day of recovery, and for 4 days in a row now my jaw has become increasingly stiff, tight, and sore. It's a little hard to talk, and really really hard to eat. I made 2 of the same sandwich last night, ate one, and could barely eat the other today. Hopefully it won't keep this up and stop working entirely in a few days. Meanwhile, I'm partying in Ice Cream City over here.

Vicodin... shoot. Isn't that what Doctor House was addicted to? All I was given was a prescription for 500mg of Ibuprofein (?) which is essentially Extra Strength Tylenol. And I didn't even finish off my prescription. I would have refused opiates anyhow.

Did you try the Garlic?

Sucks that things are getting worse for you. You should be doing better next week hopefully.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Yeah I did the garlic thing on Friday, 2 days after the removal. It was a big nasty clove that burned me up something fierce.

Weird how you only got Ibuprofen. A friend of mine got 150 pills of vicodin (I only got 20) and another friend of mine told me his vicodin pills were 15 mg each (mine are a measly 5 mg each). I've gotta have some rum to even feel these things. Booze, pills, ice cream, and FF4DS were my diet for the whole weekend.

And yeah, vicodin is what got House, as well as Matthew Perry, Melanie Griffith, Eminem, and many more! (I can't find a good list of celebrity vicodin addicts, dammit. There's gotta be way more.) Crank it up to oxy ("hillbilly heroin") and you can include Cindy McCain, Courtney Love, and Rush Limbaugh.
