For me, I think it was 1998...in that year, I bought and played: Resident Evil 2 Castlevania:Symphony of the Night (came out in 1997, but I only got it in 1998) Final Fantasy 7 (same as above) Parasite Eve Xenogears Metal Gear Solid Banjo Kazooie Zelda Ocarina of Time In a nutshell...in that year alone I played what I consider the best JRPG ever (Xenogears), the best 'classic' RE (RE2), the best adventure game of all time (Zelda OOT) and one of the best platformers ever (the original Banjo). Plus, I´m pretty sure I´m forgetting a few other gems. Anyway, what was your best year for games, in the 1998-2008 period?

I enjoyed 1998, 2000 and 2005 the most. I personally can't decide between them though.

The launch of Dreamcast, that was the best day. The year I liked most was 2001, when PSO first came out. A year of PSO and hardly any sleep

While the thread was loading, I thought in my mind "1998" and THEN games began to pop up in my head, and then the page loaded and I saw what you said. I say 1998 for the awesome N64 games I got, but if PS had great games that year too, then it must have been a sweet year all around. What year did panzer dragoon saga, shining force 3, sonic jam, guardian heroes, and radiant silvergun come out (all saturn games). Are those saturn games all from 1998 too? That was a sweet year. Fall 2007-early summer 2008 (technically a year's time) had a sweet lineup of games too, though its not really a "year"

I was in college and played a lot of Golden Eye, Ocarina of Time, Mario Kart 64, ISSS64/98

After that I had less time to play with my friends =(

2007 was huge for gaming.

If I include games I rented with games I purchased, I would say 2007 was my favorite year for gaming. The following games made it the most enjoyable year for me: Halo 3, Bioshock, GRAW 2, Rainbow Six Vegas (PS3), Elder Scrolls IV (PS3), Crackdown, Assassin's Creed, The Orange Box, Warhawk and Mass Effect.

Quite a few memorable games from 2003 for me: Dark Cloud 2, Disgaea, FFX-2, Xenosaga, R&C Going Commando, Zelda: Wind Waker, Call of Duty, and Viewtiful Joe come to mind. 1998 was pretty damn good too with Xenogears, Starcraft, Half-life, MGS, etc.
