Why are you guys getting hot and bothered about it?

It's a fact Sony has always used this trick to sell their consoles. We are now approaching 2 years into the ps3 lifespan and there's many people on this very forum clinging on the hopes of Cell powerz that were sold to them and never delivered.

And it's not just the gaming division. I work with pro video equipment and Sony is always using that same trick to sell their gear. They create a good sounding buzzword (Exmor! CineAlta!) and promise the heaven. Sony reps always go the same way "This [product] features the new amazing technology [POWERHADFX/EXMOR/CINEALTA/BRIGHTERA] enabling it to deliver the best image!".

 ^^^Hot and bothered

The irony might be delicious, but what I've said is true =)

Then you must be Hot and Bothered by everyone else.  I hope you don't run out of high blood pressure pills.

lolz speaking of promises never delivered, Moore himself, at the 360's launch in Japan, said it was going to be the number one system in Japan. nice one Peter.

when people are still bad mouthing you after something that you did a hundred or so years ago and the PS2 is still cranking out software, you must be doing something right. get over it already.

He is right, Sony spoke so much shit about the ps2, they said it would have Toy Story 2 graphics etc. If was not for the ridiculous sony hype, the DC might have had more of a chance.
If you compare what games the DC had and what the ps2 had in its first 2 years, I would take the DC anyday.

Let's clarify something here.  SONY referred to the Toy Story comment in regards to FMV in Onimusha (which actually happened), NOT gameplay.  Microsoft (Gates) were the ones who claimed that the original Xbox was capable of Toy Story graphics (which DIDN'T happen).  This Toy Story fiasco was severly taken out of context by both media and fanboys alike.  In actually, both PS2 and Xbox has the processing power to produce non-FMV Toy Story Graphics, but in regards to gameplay, it was too taxing on the hardware to sustain that quality of the visuals.  So for those who though SONY lied in regards to Toy Story graphics, please think again.  Microsoft were the ones who lied.

Everyone knows Sony is the one that stated the Toy Story statement.

I sorry.  I am mistaken, and I stand corrected.  It wasn't Gates who said the Xbox was capable of Toy Story graphics.  It was Seamus:

"One of the basic premises of the Xbox is to put the power in the hands of the artist," Seamus Blackley said, which is why Xbox developers "are achieving a level of visual detail you really get in 'Toy Story.'"

See what hype does.  It creates unwarranted anger without basis...

PS2 WAS THE BEST CONSOLE LAST GENERATION

ENDTHREAD

In the quote he seems to be talking about Killzone instead of Killzone 2 though. But who cares? He spouts nonsense no matter which company pays his check. He should talk about Halo 3 instead.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

You keep dodging the issue, maybe is there something you don't want to talk about? Like how Sony overpromises to sell their products?

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

Peter Moore switched to a software dev because he was tired of Sony crushing everything he worked on.

Peter? Bitter Much?

Moore has a habit of sending companies on the downslope. Can't wait to see what he does to EA Sports.
