Analysts seem to think Nintendo won.

" Wedbush Morgan Securities' Michael Pachter said before the show that he expected an Xbox 360 price cut by the end of the Microsoft conference as an answer to Sony's $100 PS3 price cut from earlier in the week. With no such cut materializing, Pachter admitted he was wrong, and said that Microsoft is in a tough position right now because of the recently announced warranty extension for the system. He said a price cut now might send the wrong signal to consumers about the quality of the hardware, and they could save the price cut until they can reassure consumers that whatever was wrong with the system has been fixed."

Analysts don't know what they are talking about. I said before E3 that it would be hard for M$ to cut their prices because of the $1 billion to fix their consoles. At least he's smart enough to admit he's wrong and realize what he should have before E3 like most people.

Do the people you are quoting even play videogames? Give me a break.

And 1up know what they are talking about?

In my opinion none of them do, but you can't disregard them entirely, or don't bring up something like 1up think it was in favor of sony, because it can easily be countered with such analysts.

It seems a bit fanboyish to do so.

Edit: I didn't understand your edit, do you agree with it or are making fun of it? Because is seems that you agree with it, and if you do, that totally undermines your whole post in my opinion. Also take a look at the thread in vgchartz. I think it was pointed out there too.

If you trust financial analysts, then good for you.  If you actually follow gaming news like I assume you do, then I would hope you remember all the analysts differing in opinion every few days.

Why do you go to financial analysts for gaming news?

1UP is a very good source for GAMING news.  Games.  E3 is about games.

Want me to get some more gaming sources?

I really am impressed with you. You really are very pro-sony to the point that you always manage to change the subject for sony. I actually am very impressed and happy for you. And I think I can say for sure now that whatever I say I won't be able to prove my point. So good for you. If you really are true, if sony only made one PS3 and that was for you, I would say they were successful to make someone so satisfied. Congrads.
(This was not sarcasm or bashing)

Edit:  ""The reality is that the Wii is not expanding the market as much as Nintendo wants us to believe," Goodman said. "According to a publisher I have spoken to, less than 10 percent of Wii buyers did not previously own a console."

I do wonder about that statistic. How was the question phrased? Who did they interview? Do you count N64, SNES, NES?

No. E3 is an Exposition of Electronic Entertainment. Video games just happens to be one of its myriad forms.

Washington Post Says Nintendo Won

Nintendo is the future

What the Washington Post says is the future.

Washington Post= God

Nintendo = Jesus

Your avatar picture is perfect for your sheep mentality. Keep posting garbage like this you only prove my point about fanboys.

The myth of Jesus is a sham, an amalgam of beliefs stolen from earlier pagan myths, do not equate the Wii with such a treacherous belief system

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! I'm only pro-Sony in that I want them to succeed because I own a PS2.  However, I can recognize when they are terrible like last year's E3.  They turned it around this year.

Analysts say PS3 is a success = stupid analysts

Analysts say Nintendo "Won" E3 = analysts cool again?

Damn, I know there's some way to figure out the logic in this. I just... can't... quite... figure it out.

It seems the mods need help with this forum.  I have zero tolerance for trolling, platform criticism (Rule 4), and poster bad-mouthing (Rule 3.4) and you will be reported.

They should change their name then to the Computer and Video Games Industry Expo, but I guess that isn't as catchy.

Sony should change their name as well. SCEA, SCEE? Entertainment? What the hell are they doing trying to entertain me? They should change their name to Sony Computer and Video Games America/Europe. Since, you know, they supposedly make video game consoles and have no business misleading people with such a false pretense as "entertainment".

I guess video games simply aren't meant for entertainment. That would be too softcore.

Come on now, Nintendo fans. You've been trumpeting: "It's not about the graphics, it's about the games, games games," for a long time now; you can't just suddenly turn around and say: "who cares about the games, the financial analysts like Nintendo!"

E3 is a show about games -- and, I'd point out, particularly oriented towards the hardcore gamer. Sony did a great job of catering to that crowd.  In truth, I think Nintendo did show a good deal of games, just that a lot of those were more casual games that aren't suited to the E3 audience.
