The biggest mistake in this game was taking out the solo world tour. There was no reason to do that. This game really gives no incentive for one to push harder for higher scores. What's that little Johnny? Can't beat painkiller on guitar or drums on expert? That's ok, there's no solo world tour to try and beat nor are there any achievements for beating anything on expert except the endless setlist or as I call it, the 360 system death accelerator.

Everything else is good thus far though.

I think having the actual World Tour mode available for single player is way better than the "beat these songs in order of difficulty" approach in every game since the original Guitar Hero. Plus, you can always Quickplay songs if you're just looking to one-up your old high scores.

The dedication you show to any particular console or company is inversely proportional to the number of times you have gotten laid. If you get laid enough, even if you prefer a certain brand, you just don't give enough of a shit to argue about it on the internet.

Nice, not really surprised, the first one kicked ass.

Hopefully the PS3 version is the same.

LOL, just saw this achievement posted as one of the Secret ones.

That's going to be brutal for anyone who wants to do it.  83 songs in a row.  I'd be pissed if I got halfway through and accidently hit the guide button or something.

They could easily have the solo modes and make World Tour available for single player.  Extra options that extend the life of a game can only be good.  Exchanging 4 big solo modes for some instrument specific "Challenges" is not a good compromise.  There's no reason to remove THE feature that made GH 1-3 and Rock Band 1 great for fans.

By the way, am I the only one who thinks they should just let us pick 20 of our favorite songs from the list of DLC they have up instead of them picking 20 free songs that will most likely blow and be unknown bands or more of harmonix's "inside" crap bands?  Anybody who thinks they would leave off huge/popular/good songs off the game to be added later is fooling themselves.

Im not getting what you are getting at here, the challenges for the specific instruments are the solo mode from RB1. You get your solo career mode score here. Its just like the solo tour. Theres zero difference besides the layout. I have gone through the first 4 or 5 of these challenges for Guitar and now have a Career Score of about 2 million. Simple as that.

Didnt know they took out the solo world tour mode. Since you can play with friends online I virtually always have a band mate to go in so havnt had to try it out.

And to the guy that said reviewers are going ot be biased against GHWT, you just keep using that excuse, I mean it couldnt possibley get lower scores because its not as good of a game.

Never that.

I own all three current consoles and a great gaming rig, now thats out of the way.

"is it Wii FIt that has sold as many as PS3's sold? Thats a LOL Look at the total sales of software is it just me that sees Nintendo titles hitting 10m+ and you say they arent making a difference? Another LOL!"

"Hell, with all the negative hype Sony spin, people just aren't interested cost is too high and to get the true HD experience (1080p, 7.1 surround) you will need a $1000+ system. THAT IS GOING TO DO IT IN A RECESSION! PS4 will not happen"

Anybody that's playing so far do the hammer-ons seem to be easier this time around???

I'm not a super expert player by any means (although I could play almost every song on the first game expert) but I've been able to hit some really tough hammer-on sections this time around that I wouldn't have before. Maybe I'm getting better but I don't think that's it :P

I never had a problem with hammer ons in RB 1/2.  They have always been comparable to GH2.  GH3 the range of a successful hit was widened dramatically so it was easier to do.  They have also added chord hammer ons, mostly for slides but I have not played any of the higher up songs.

And to the guy that said that the 20 free songs will not be any good, they will have 500 songs available by the end of the year so it is not like they are struggling for artists.  Of course the 20 songs are gonna be good.

The game is great. I doubt I'll need to buy Guitar Hero: WT after getting this and all the songs that are coming.

New Guns N Roses track is sweet...hopefully a sign of things to come.
