The reason the PSP was so successful with Monster Hunter is because, at least from what I know, it's a huge online game that you can take with you anywhere. Sony is going to need something highly interactive, convenient, and nearly impossible to find elsewhere to attract the average Japanese consumer to the PS3. I just don't see FF13 doing that, at least not for more than 1 or 2 weeks. LittleBigPlanet looks capable, but I'm not exactly sure of how the Japanese public would receive it.
they should make a redesign and more colours whahah weird huh?

They need more Japanese games. Actually, they would need the Japanese games that are released on the 360 and the Wii. The focus of Sony to make a lot of action games and shooters won't help them in Japan at all.
How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...
gran turismo 5 and final fantasy xiii+ versus will mark the dead of the 360
@montana, never have a doubt of final fantasy in japan.
there is a law against releasing at work days.

I'm going to have to diagree with you on both points , I think the Key to a succesful PS3 in Japan involves 2 things.
1.Adequet software support.
2. Redesign.
That's what helped the PSP and is exactly what the PS3 lacks.
Yes, it won't stay at the disgusting level of 9/10K every week. It just needs some RPG's, a price cut and a re-design. GT5, Tekken 6 and LBP may also help. I expect KH3, Dark Cloud 3, the Star Ocean 4 port and Team ICO's game to be revealed at TGS and hopefully a WKC release date.

itll rise above 10k beuse the holiday season is approaching

While software support for the PS3 looks poor in Japan now, it's mainly because of the slow period (software is slow for the Wii as well). The only home console getting lots of games is the 360 (ironically), and Microsoft had to pay off quite a few developers for that. The PS3 has seen the release of Hot Shots Golf, Devil May Cry 4, Metal Gear Solid 4, Yakuza 3, Dynasty Warriors 6, Valkyria Chronicles, etc., and none have done much to permanently increase the sales of the PS3. Although I do agree that a redesign, especially with a drastic decrease in size and added BC, would help sales for the PS3 in Japan. It definitely worked for the PSP and especially the DS.
Yes, I think both Final Fantasy and a slimline PS3 will see a major impact.
