Forums - Microsoft - Xbox 360 sales surge.

Maths lesson time

Last week:

Xbox: 51,978
PS3: 72,479
This soon to be released week
5 days @ the same rate as last week = 5*51,978/7 = 37127
2 days at double the previous rate = 2*2*51,978 = 29702
Total = 66,828

Sorry chums, the 360 seems destined to sell approximately the same amount as the PS3 in Americas this week

Around the Network

This on top of the August NA victory is very good news for MS, it really blunts or stops the momentum sony was building up

Augusts NPD hardware sales figures:

- DS: 518.3K 89.7K (-14.75%)
- Wii: 453K 102K (-18.37%)
- PSP: 253K 31.3K (12.49%)
- Xbox 360: 195.2K 9.6K (-4.68%)
- PS3: 185.4K 39.5K (-17.56%)
- PS2: 144.1K 11.4K (-7.33%)

PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.

Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game

I hate to say I told you so...

But i told you so

Still off by well over 10k, but a lot more accurate that those who unrealistically believed there would be an instant 100% increase over the first few days of the price restructuring.

Next week should show a better picture of the potential lasting effects of the new pricing, but... some of those wild-eyed predictions should probably be toned down a notch.

Right now, it's looking like the real effects won't actually be seen until the holiday shopping season starts to ramp up.
