I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

We really needed a mini ice age, especially when there are already food shortages around the world and a severe lack of various crops. I really don't blame nature for hating us this much. Given her situation, I would feel the same way.

I have been touting to many people that sun spots are more important than green house gases. Depending on what the average temperature does over the next few years will either prove or disprove greenhouse gas people.

The interesting thing is there is always this talk of the Earth returning to an "Ice Age" when the more realistic characterization of our current climate would be that we're experiencing a short term "Warm Age"

One of the more terrifying hypothesis' of the solar cycle disapearing is that the magnetic cycle that drives sun-spot activity could be the primary reason why the Earth goes into these warm periods, and if it disapeared we would be forced to return to the more normal state of being in an Ice Age.

Earlier this year I saw someone claim that the rate of change of global warming is no where near to being as quick as the rate of change we have seen from global cooling in the past; where global warming might mean we will see a 1 degree rise in temperatures in a century, global cooling has had a 5 degree drop in as little as 20 years.

Crap. This means I can't blame my code problems on sunspots anymore. :(

OT: Nice article, however, there is a little contradictory info in whether this will increase or decrease global temp.

I do not recommend watching Event Horizon while high.

You'll be under the couch screaming before you even finish your bowl.

Or check out my new webcomic: http://selfcentent.com/

As someone who has long had great interest in Astronomy-related subjects, I find this very... interesting. =D

I've never bought into the global warming thing at all, coming from a conservative family and whatnot. The whole sunspot affecting earth's climate thing has occurred to me a few times, especially the sun's 11 year cycle, and makes complete sense to me.
