federer is simply the best nadal's days on top are over

 Nadal just beat Federer at Wimbledon. So....

The final was a bit boring after Murray's sensational game against Nadal (I think that's why your thread was first ignored: a Federer win is business as usual, even if it's a historical one like the 5th successive US Open title).

It's always a pleasure to watch Federer play. Most aesthetic player I've ever seen (and I've been watching tennis since the days of Borg & Connors, Everts & Navratilova).

I read an interesting interview with Mats Wilander a few days ago: He said the difference between today and 20 years ago is that many modern players are just playing tennis because their parents wanted them to. They don't live tennis, they work tennis. He also said Federer is the best (most talented) player of all time, but his biggest weakness is not being capable of changing his game when needed (maybe because usually he's so dominant that he doesn't need to).

Murray seems to have a bright future, but he wouldn't be the first one from UK who...you know...

I had money on the Federer / S williams double, $20 @ 10 to 1...

So i was pretty happy with Federer, i'll be amazed if he doesn't break Sampras's record. Even though mens tennis is more even than it has been for a long time, Federer at 27 has several good years left in him to win two more slams...
