From what I can see its selling very very well. I went to my local games retailer in the cbd near my college and they had sold out the first shipment and were asking for pre-orders for the next shipment. That indicates huge demand as the only other games that had that were wii fit, gta IV and mario kart this year.

BTW we can expect spore to have many many expansion packs (as it appears EA wants it to be the new sims), and also its malleable nature is just asking for expansions. So I think anything missing will probably be added in later (and EA will make millions from it...)

Well I'd personally like an expansion pack that adds in the ability to control an individual unit to explore planets like you do in the creature stage.  Maybe they can even add in sending out exploration probes.

Spore has made it up to the 4th most played game on xfire today. I'll probably be getting it sometime in the next month. I can't wait to get a chance to play it.
