You really want to stop global warming. Then we need a massive genocide in this world because the main problem is there are too many people in this world. This world can only hold so much of each species before it starts to show natural issues because of it. Eventually nature will limit our population for us but if ya don't want to be massacred I suggest this world needs to start controlling their growth.

Why is it necessary? First of all we are exhausing more resources for more people. Running out of food and water and ultimately emitting more and more carbon into the air because of the increased population. We need to downsize.

There are other things we can do like clean and more efficient burning alternatives but I'd say the main problem stems from just too many people. Solve that and we can clear up all problems such as world hunger, water loss, and carbon emissions not to mention while protecting more places in nature and conserving natural resources.

I don't care if anyone thinks this is morbid because its the truth. There is just too many people and the world just can't hold us all.

I've got a solution that could solve both, kill off all the human population except 1 million and start over. Random lottery to decide who is killed, so its fair.

I am down, how about you guys? I mean we've already screwed up as a species in a lot of ways so far, why not just start over?

Random Lottery?  That wouldn't change anything.  Most likely anyway.

You'd probably just end up with a smaller representitive sample of people that are the problem.

Either way... ever see the Movie Idiocracy?

Funny movie... though there is quite the ring of truth to it.

Modernization would help as well... once we get renewable fuels.  Modernized societys actually have declining popularity curves as there is a much less need for children and children are more likely to survive for those who want to make sure they have descendents.

...Welcome to Costco, I love you...

(somewhat) OT: We just don't have enough data to prove that we are the main cause of global warming. No, data from the past 400 years  is not even close to enough. We can't compare that to a similar time frame after a previous ice age, because we have no data.

Also, I refuse to stop eating meat... I loves me some steak... =)

Actually as a bonus eating non meat items actually reduces (for the most part) carbon emissions. Of course that depends on the type of crop and how its harvested, but in many cases crops eat more CO2 as they're grown then they release when they are processed/harvested.

As to the meat thing, that is true but there are other solutions. For example they have found ways to develop quality meat in the lab that does not require the very expensive and inhumane process factory farms are so often involved in.

As to really reducing our global warming problem though, the best, most effective solution is to go to 3rd world countries and HEAVILY support contraceptives. The "third world" has huge population booms while most first world countries either have slow growth (the US and Europe) or even population depletion (Japan) over time. That we are as a nation fighting to NOT allow abortion and contraceptive options to the people of the world is just insane. 90% of the poverty, misery, starvation and global warming can be attributed to overpopulation of the world.

I would say that all countries in the world, yes ALL countries, should be given free unlimited access to contraceptives. It doesn't cost nearly as much as you think, for less then we're giving to Georgia (a billion dollars) we could give the entire world contraceptive inserts which would last 5 or more years (a small device inserted under the skin which releases hormones that prevent pregnancy and often even periods).

The harsh method would just be to stop any and all foreign aid from first world countries. The population booms in nations that are living mainly on handouts from rich nations would correct themselves within a year or two Malthas style.

its a good thing that this "global warming" is just a socialist plot so we dont have to worry about that.

I wouldnt' say global warming is a socialist plot.  Just the fact that it's man-made is a plot to make money and such.

I mean... this article pretty much agrees with that.

The biggest man made causes of CO2 are infact controlled natural causes.  Animals and Forest Fires.

How many animals out there are non controlled by humans vs farming animals?  How many Forest Fires start naturally?

etc.

The man made effect on global warming is being overexagerrated for monetary gain.

Who's monetary gain?  What groups or people benefit from global warming?  (Just curious, not arguing)

1)Al Gore and other carbon credit pioneers.

He owns a completely unregulated "Carbon Credit" buisness where people pay him for their guilt on carbon credits.

There are tons of people like him with "Carbon Credit" buisnesses where people pay... and the money really just mostly goes in these peoples pockets.

2) Climate Scientists.  You get a lot more money for your 6-8 years in colege grants and payment wise if you support global warming then if you didn't.  If Global warming suddenly didn't exist at all or wasn't man made... a lot of climate scientists would be out of work... as measureing human carbon emmissions would be pointless... and it's almost impossible to measure the total world wide carbon rates.

They use Climate models and computer simulations to get there results.  Which is a problem... since we don't really know how much natural CO2 the earth gives off... making any computer simulation on this... really silly.  Since... if you have an incomplete model like that... the % causes are just going to be higher.

3) The media.  Man Made Global warming is a great media draw.  Everybody covered the UN global warming report.

Pretty much nobody covered the fact that a large group of scientists quit the project do to "Data manipulation and exagerration of facts."

4) Oil Companies.   Sounds weird... but nobody has researched more in alternative energy then these guys... and this alternative energy will be stuff that they control.  No longer will they have to worry about their energy supply being disrupted by socialist dictators in South America or wars in the unstable Middle east.  They won't have to pay anyone but themselves.

Seriously being an Oil company now is dangerous... Iraq is considered relativly safe as far as oil reserves go compared to places like Venuzela.  They're ready to move into solar, wind power and others.

People argue they aren't working hard enough on alternative fuels... but i mean honestly.  Plug in cars already exist.  They are the cars of the future most likely.  Get clean electricity and you don't need clean fuels.  That's what the oil companies are putting all their money into, Solar, Geothermal... etc.  Renewable electricity sources.

In the future Gas stations might be places where you just plug your car in and recharge it.

5) Poor countries dictators.  The UN's main solution to global warming is to set up a "Carbon Credit" system where everybody gets a certain number of carbon credits... and if a country is going to go over.  Like say China.  They could pay billions of dollars to another country not using their credits to transfer them.

Like say... Zimbabwe.

This gives poor countries ruled by dictators further incentive to keep their people in the dark ages because the less carbon emissions they let off... the more money they get to pocket from rich 1st world nations.

6) Rich countries.  If everyone was industrilized and "modern" there wouldn't be enough resources around of everyone to live a "modern" life.  Not even enough energy yet. Seriously if you take a detailed "Global Footprint" you'll see that it's basically impossible for everyone to live even a poor modern life with world population as it is.... and rising.

So Global Warming effectivly keeps some nations poor, while working hard to come up with renewable energies so that we aren't hit as hard in "needs" when countries modernize.

Though that doesn't fix it all... since modernization is helping to cause the global food crisis.

So wait, are you arguing that global warming is a helpful conspiracy that is expanding innovation and revitalizing energy businesses?  Or are you just pointing out that you feel it IS just a conspiracy, and also just pointing out the beneficial side effects?

I believe it's a manmade global warming is beneficial conspiracy... however i'm also against lieing to the mass public just to get things done.  Call me an idealist.  I think it's a slippery slope when you start lieing to people to get things done.

Also, i think that while mostly beneficial there are some things that are beneficial to some, and harmful to others.  Like Carbon Credits which have so far been a scam and the UN plan which will basically pay corrupt governments to keep there people in the third world. (Assuming any nation actually listens to them.)

Also that we may not be researching enough to stop natural global warming.

BRING ON THE HEAT WAVE! Cause I'm not gonna stop eating meat.

I'll bet the last warm period happened because the dinosaurs ate so much meat... and also their SUV's were such gas guzzlers.

Judging by the size of his chin and face...I would say this is one method that Al Gore will not endorse.

I actually became Vegetarian a few months ago for environmental reasons. Partly global warming, but mainly because the planet couldn't even sustain us if the entire world attempted to eat the meat heavy diets that the Western world does.

The amount of land, resources and energy that go in to growing what is required for a vegetarian meal are far less than the amount that goes in to a meat dish. If we didn't have to worry about producing the overwhelming amount of grain and hay that farm animals require, the world would be a lot better off.

That said, next time I'm at the Guelph Farmer's market, I'm stopping at the grass fed, hormone free elk meat stand. I can't wait to try that stuff.

This is my sentiment exactly, however, I cannot get myself to stop eating meat.
