Forums - Sony - Why doesn't Sony advertise the PS3 in NA much?

Weird thing is that Sony has been advertizing over here quite aggressively (for their doing).

Billboards in the booths where we wait for our public transportation had been done before, but not to this extent, and now I've also heard radio commercials for Resistance: Fall of Men (the budget version).

And I've also seen several commercials on TV, specifically targetting GT:P fans by tempting them to go online to race against others.

All things they haven't done before to this extent.

Possibly to get things churning to counter-balance NA-lack?

There still playing MGS4 ads where I live its starting to get annoying!

Just curious
I live in NA so when a Multi-platform game is advertised on tv it ends with the Xbox 360 logo...with the exception of GTAIV there was a seperate commercial for both

In Europe is it the opposite for multiplat games?

On gametrailers.com, all the multiplat games have the 360 boxart

"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

This isn't something I've noticed. I've seen as many ads for the PS3 as I have the Wii and 360, but it's important to note that it's cyclical: when a big game comes out for 360, then I see more 360 ads than anything else, and so forth. When MGS4 came out and for several weeks afterwards, PS3 dominated the advertising in my neck of the woods.

Advertising is incredibly expensive. They revolve around campains rather than a year long commercial runs.

I see lots of ads. Maybe you don't watch sports or something, because they advertise a lot during football and basketball games.

Keep in mind this is the calm before the storm. All companies are holding back until the holidays approach.

I watch a lot of sports...and I haven't seen much advertisement from Sony

They've been playing the Madden commercial on lots of NFL games. The problem is you don't know it's a PS3 commercial until the last second. There is nothing to identify they are advertising the PS3 version in the commercial itself, just the logo in the last second of the commercial.
