Forums - General - McCain is PO'd at the Media

I just think McCain has been acting much more like a politician than he claims to be in the last few months. He has been the one who ramped up the negative attack ads, and bemoaning the media as biased.

They have been covering Obama more frequently, but frankly McCain is pretty boring when he is on camera, so who can blame them? McCain likes the hoaky town hall meetings which look just plain awful on television and he is not the best speaker in the world either.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. I agree that there should be a degree of anger over the unfair balance in the media, but this is a terrible and stupid way to deal with it. Just not talk to them? Be a pissy little grump when you do talk to them? Make big speeches trying to piss people off at them? This is just immature, stupid, obvious political maneuvering that is in no way relevant to my interests as a voter. I should vote McCain because the media is being unfair to him? The hell kind of platform is that to make at your big convention? He's really working against what was supposed to be his central differentiating characteristic: Substance. This is just going even further into making politics about politics rather than about relevant important issues.

We can all agree the Media is pretty much in bed with Obama at this point.
