My buddy just got a PS3, and he set up his BT mic that he has for his blackberry and then I invited him to a chat, and it seemed to work fine, we had a clear line.

Then we played burnout paradise, and on his screen, it showed neither of our mics as on, on my screen (in show players) it showed my mic on, but not his....we also had a miserable connection for voip on madden 09, but I was the only one with a mic, is was charging (but I think thats madden's fault, it even slowed down the game)

So, anyway, any ideas on why we can use the chat, but can't seem to get this working in game? He will be trying his Jabra from Warhawk out tomorrow, I have a hunch it'll work..but still seems odd that chat worked only.

I also thought since he was sitting next to the blackberry it might have been the problem, but still doesn't explain why chat worked, and not in game...ideas?

Im going to suggest he unpair the blackberry if the Jabra doesn't work.

I was messing with Burnout yesterday and its like 25% of the games seem to work for VoIP, and the rest there is nothing, my mic doesnt even show up as working on the ingame player display in the top right.

I figure since it does work at times, it can't be a port issue, also when the game connects to the 'Burnout News' while its loading I can always hear the mic activate in my ear, so I know its at least recognizing that the game is there

...Im going to just keep inviting friends and if nothing works, close the room and try again and see if it will 'catch' once.

no clue, both of my bluetooth headsets work fine for ps3.

I forgot to say that our mics work, we checked them in the chat function from XMB and we are clear as day in Warhawk...I think its a BOP issue...
